Happy Halloween

Ms. Gracie was a ladybug for Halloween and a rather cute one I must say. Hubby had planned to put a few dots on her face but sweetums had other plans. She screamed bloody murder so we had to abandon that plan. Thanks Auntie Na for the Elmo basket.

Is this hat not screamin & pimpin? Whooweee you couldn't tell me nothing tonight. I found this hat at the dollar store believe it or not. It was only $3 bucks and I snatched it up. Wonder could I find a church outfit to go with it?

These are a couple of tricker treaters that stopped by. I said where are your costumes?! The one in the white tee said he was a ghost, good grief. They were so handsome I went ahead & gave 'em a lil loot. Kids, gotta luv em.

Eleven Months Old

Wow my sweet girl is 11 months old today. Time is moving far too quickly. Soon she would have been home with us for 6 months. Gracie girl is truely something. She keeps hubby and I on our toes. This is a quick post because I'm on my way out. I'll add to it later.

We took this picture Sunday after church. I'm surprised my sweetums is still awake because she gave us quite a workout at church. She is busy, busy, busy in church and LOUD. She loves singing along with the choir and she's more than happy to help the Pastor out as well. Hubby and I just try to go with the flow because she's only 11 mos old after all and she doesn't understand the concept of shhhhh yet.

Here's my baby girl playing with one of her babies. She's caressing her face so gently. I pray my sweetums always has a kind spirit. I've always rooted for the underdog even when I was a child. I was never a mean spirited bully. I pray I can instill that in my baby.

A couple of weeks ago I had to take Gracie to work with me for a little while because Hubby had to work late. I'm in an office alone so it wasn't that big of a deal, however by nature I'm not a rule breaker so I was a little uneasy. While there my baby girl fell while pushing one of the chairs, I grabbed for her but missed. She didn't hurt herself but I felt so guilty for even having her there in harm's way. Fortunately Daddy came soon after and all was well. How I wish I could always protect her from any harm.

Hmmmm one my girlfriends kids me all the time about my spoiled baby, but really can our little ones be truely spoiled at this age? I for one don't think so. I definately want sweetums to be happy as much as possible and I go outta my way to see that she is. It's funny how your wants and needs change after you become a mom. I'd gladly pass up a Coach purse for the latest toy that "might" bring a smile to my girl's face. Now that's saying something.

You are the best part of my day baby girl. I pray you're always this happy. I pray you find your passion in life early so you'll have many, many years to enjoy it. I love you to pieces Gracie. Please don't grow up to fast, I miss you already. Love Momma

We Voted!

Sweetums and I voted today! First a nice lunch of corn muffins. YumYum

Then it was off to the polls. Our precinct had a few problems with the printer and as a result we had to wait for 45 mins. They finally got it working and we cast our vote.

Hallelujah, we just helped Obama get a little closer to the whitehouse!
Now it's your turn. Go BARACK the Vote. Go Obama Go!!!

1st Birthday

Gracie's first birthday is fast approaching. I haven't a clue on what to do. Should I have a party at home with a few kids or just hubby and I. Gymboree and McDonalds have also been suggested. I am stumped. A party at home would be ok BUT we will have all of our Christmas decorations up and that may be a little risky with a bunch of small fries running around. I think McDonalds is for older kids. Gymboree may be the solution depending on what the cost would be. Sooooo anyone that has some suggestions please send them my way. Thanks in advance. Smooches

Flower Power

These are a few pics we took while visiting my mom. Here's Ms. Gracie attempting to pick a bouquet for her grandma.

Momma took this pic quick, hoping no little buggies bit her sweet baby.

Here's Ms. Gracie displaying her anti-social attitude. Luckily Auntie had her smiling soon after.

Here's my ultra cool nephrew sporting a hat I found at the dollar store. I can hardly wait till Halloween to wear it.

This lovely lady is Kia, she and my nephrew will be wed in 2010. She's just as beautiful inside as she is on the outside. Nice going nephrew!

Ethiopian Get Together

We attended a wonderful get together held at an Ethiopian restaurant. We got to meet many ET adoptive parents in various stages of the process.

I think this little cutie was sweet on my sweetums

Hey that's mine!

Another lil Ethiopian cutie

This was Quinn's dinner.

This was mine. The Honey wine was outstanding. I had 2 glasses and I don't normally drink at all. I wish I couldve had a whole bottle. Yummy, yummy

Heartbreaking

I just came across this story on one of the forums. Beautiful 3yr. old boy, Samuel, adopted and home from Ethiopia just 5 wks. ago, suffered a tragic accident. Apparently he was hit by a tractor driven by his father. He's had both feet amputated and 1 of his legs. He has a colostomy bag that may be permanent. Please everyone, take a moment to stop and pray for this sweet baby and his family. My heart feels so sad right now. You can follow his progress here.

Look at my baby screaming GO OBAMA. She's his number 1 supporter.

Why yes Senator, you can certainly count on my vote!!!! The inaugurantion ball, well yes I think I could make it.

Look Momma, isn't that McCain working as a carnie?! Yes baby things got rough after he lost.

Flying high with Obama on the horizon. Almost there Barack, almost there.

Life is good again with President Obama leading the country, ahhhhhhhh.

I've Been Tagged!

As you can see my love affair with Christmas started quite early.

I've been tagged by Celeste, yippeee this is fun!

6 Random Things about Me

1. I am an absolute Christmas nut. I wish it could be Christmas every day and no I wouldn't get tired of it.

2. I am the baby of 4, my siblings were 10, 14 and 16 when I was born.

3. I rode a roller coaster when I was 10 and promised God if he would just let me get off alive, I would never go on another one....and I haven't.

4. Hubby and I met on a blind date and married 4 months later. I still have a major crush on him after ten years :)

5. I secretly hope that Gracie will grow up and perform with the Alvin Ailey Dance Troop.

6. If I could have 1 talent it would be singing cause I love it. Unfortunately I can't carry a note in a bucket so others must suffer.

Okay so of course I get to "pay it forward" and tag me some other folks, here are the rules

1. Link to the person that tagged you.
2. Post the rules on the blog.
3. Write six random facts about yourself.
4. Tag six people at the end of your post
5. Let each person know they have been tagged.
6. Let the taggers know when your entry is up.

One more rule for my fellow Taggers. You have to post a baby picture of yourself at the top of your post, because I shouldn't be humiliated by myself!!!

Okay, let me see if I can think of 6 people to tag.

Katie Scarlett she has the neatest blog and her sweet Vivian is just gorgeous.

Andrea Ms. Selamawit is the best dressed baby in blogland. Her headwraps are beyond fierce.

Pat always so kind and helpful. She's talked to me and many others before, during and after the journey to bring our precious kiddos home.

Geremu's Mom she's needs to get back into the blog game!

Angela first person to talk with me about ET adoption. So glad I found you on the forum.

Stacy Lucy's beautiful face, started me on this journey. I will be forever grateful.

Water Gardens

Just a few more pics from our fun, fun weekend. These were taken at the Fort Worth Water Gardens. I hadn't been there since I was a kid.

I just loved that dress I was wearing. I got it on sale last year at Burlingtons. It was 2 sizes too small but I was optimistic. Now I can wear it, yippeee for meeeee!

I tried to yell and tell those silly interlopers to get out of our picture frame, but they didn't hear me. The nerve!

I take tons of pics of my sweet girl, obviously. Lately, she's been a lil stubborn about giving me her award winning smile. On this one, I had to tickle her jaw to get a lil gum showing.

This is Hubby as usual in the danger zone. he wanted Gracie and I to go down the deep staircase to the bottom of the water falls......uhhhh no. Sweetums and I can see the water just fine from our safe and cozy spot up top, thank you very much.

This was taken by the tranquility pool. It was very quiet and serene. Even Sweetums was able to pipe down for a few seconds.
